About the role: Insurance Broker
As an Insurance Broker at Islands Insurance, you’ll be responsible for selecting, selling, and servicing general insurance products that meet our clients’ long-term needs in a compliant and professional manner. You’ll work closely with our in-house underwriting team and other departments, contributing to our mission of delivering a consistently 5-star experience to our clients.
What you’ll be doing:
- Liaising and negotiating with underwriters and/or approved insurers to obtain appropriate policy cover and terms.
- Developing and maintaining your knowledge and skills to sell and service products professionally.
- Reviewing and evaluating risks within your underwriting authority limits, proposing, and negotiating policy terms.
- Training, developing, and coaching less experienced colleagues.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with peers, suppliers, and industry bodies.
What you’ll need:
- Entry-level CII Professional qualification, or a willingness to undertake training within the Insurance Industry to obtain relevant professional qualifications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, approachable manner.
- Experience in a busy, customer-focused environment, either face-to-face or via telephone.
- Sales experience and the achievement of results in a targeted environment is desirable.
- 1-2 years’ experience in Insurance Broking, specifically Commercial.
