About the role: Claims Team Manager

(12-month Fixed Term Contract, based in Jersey)

As a Team Manager in the Claims department at Islands Insurance Group, you’ll be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of claims professionals. You’ll drive operational performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver a customer-first approach while fostering a positive, accountable, and innovative team culture.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing the Jersey Claims team to meet KPIs and individual goals
  • Fostering a culture that rewards performance, innovation, and alignment with company values
  • Ensuring claims are handled efficiently and fairly, in line with SLAs and regulatory standards
  • Monitoring team performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Building strong relationships with brokers, clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring full compliance with Channel Islands regulators (e.g., JFSC, GFSC), GDPR, and internal policies
  • Supporting internal audits and promoting risk awareness and ethical conduct
  • Contributing to the development and execution of the claims strategy through projects and insights

What you’ll need:

  • Experience of leading or managing in a customer focused and regulated environment is essential.
  • Experience in delivering performance through people and managing change.

Nice to have:

  • Relevant Professional qualification (or substantial progress towards) is preferred (e.g., CMI, Cert CII, Dip CII).
  • Familiarity with Channel Islands regulatory frameworks (JFSC, GFSC)
  • Experience working with brokers and third-party suppliers preferred.
