About the role: Commercial Insurance Broker
(12-month Fixed Term Contract, based in Jersey)
As a Commercial Insurance Broker at Islands Insurance Group, you’ll be responsible for prospecting, advising, and servicing commercial insurance clients. You’ll work closely with underwriters, insurers, and internal teams to deliver compliant, effective solutions while contributing to business growth and profitability.
What you’ll be doing:
- Planning, prospecting, and selling commercial insurance products tailored to client needs
- Reviewing and managing a portfolio of existing commercial clients
- Liaising and negotiating with underwriters and insurers to secure appropriate policy terms
- Monitoring market trends to ensure clients receive competitive and suitable products
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with insurers and partners
- Developing your knowledge and skills to deliver compliant, professional service
- Collaborating with colleagues and industry bodies to support departmental objectives
- Supporting short-term projects and business initiatives as required
What you’ll need:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, approachable manner
- Experience in a customer-focused and performance-driven environment
- Proven experience delivering client-focused solutions and long-term relationships
- Experience in sales within a targeted and regulated environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Nice to have:
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., Cert CII or progress towards them)
- 1-2 years’ experience in insurance broking
- Knowledge of commercial insurance products and markets
- A track record of exceeding sales or business development targets
- Established relationships within the insurance industry
