About the role: Customer Service Representative (CSR)
As a Customer Service Representative at Islands Insurance, you’ll work closely with our Broking Teams to deliver outstanding customer support. You’ll help clients by answering their questions, solving problems, and making sure they receive excellent service. Your role will also involve helping with administrative tasks to ensure everything runs smoothly.
What you’ll be doing:
- Welcome and assist visitors in a friendly and professional way while following security procedures.
- Troubleshoot client issues, provide answers, and escalate concerns when needed.
- Handle questions about products and services by phone, email, or post, passing queries to brokers when necessary.
- Use phone and ticketing systems effectively.
- Process changes to policies, cancellations, and other tasks you’re trained for, quickly and accurately.
- Keep broker diaries up to date, follow up with clients for renewals, payments, or missing documents.
- Provide policy copies, no-claims bonus letters, and handle payments as required.
- Suggest other insurance products to attract new customers.
- Build your knowledge of our products to ensure professional and compliant service.
- Suggest ways to improve systems and processes for better service.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and customers to boost team performance.
- Take on one-off projects or tasks as assigned by your Team Leader.
What you’ll need:
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C or above).
- Experience in a busy customer service role.
- Excellent customer care and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to preventing or managing conflicts.
- Basic skills with office tools and software.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- A willingness to learn about the insurance market and our products.
- A commitment to completing training and earning a professional insurance qualification.
