About the role: Customer Service Representative
As a Customer Service Representative at Islands Insurance Group, you’ll be the first point of contact for our clients, providing professional, friendly, and effective support. You’ll work closely with brokers, finance, and internal teams to ensure high-quality service that meets the needs of customers and supports the smooth operation of the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Welcoming and assisting visitors professionally while following security procedures
- Troubleshooting and resolving basic customer queries or escalating them where necessary
- Answering calls, emails, and post with accurate and timely product and service information
- Processing customer payments and handling daily reconciliation of the payment system
- Performing basic insurance administrative tasks and supporting the wider business
- Maintaining strong communication with clients and colleagues to improve service delivery
- Continuously developing your knowledge to ensure professional and compliant service
- Suggesting improvements to processes and contributing to team success
What you’ll need:
- A good level of general education including GCSE’s (or equivalent) in Mathematics & English at Grade C or above.
- A willingness to take part in required training to support knowledge and understanding of the role and business
- Experience of working in a busy highly customer focused service delivery role
- Adept at face-to-face communication with an ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with a basic knowledge of Office equipment and software, including e-mail.
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical and thorough approach to work.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively
